Terms of service

Last updated 29 September 2026.

These are the terms for using RacingLogs.online, its web app and the RacingLogs desktop app, all run by Igniware Oy, a Finnish company, business ID 3014330-1. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. They are meant to be read, so they are short.

The service

RacingLogs.online stores the datalogs your car's logger records and lets you and the people you choose open, plot, compare and annotate them in a browser or in the desktop app. There is a free tier, described below, and there are no paid plans yet; when there are, these terms will say what they include before you can buy one.

Your account

You need a working email address, and it must be yours. An account is for one person; a car can be shared with as many people as you like. You are responsible for what is done from your account, so keep your password to yourself and sign out any machine you no longer use from the web app. We may close an account that is used to break these terms or the law.

Your content

The logs, notes, math channels and everything else you put into the service remain yours. So that we can run the service, you give us the right to store them, convert them to our own format, and show them to you and to anyone you share them with. That right ends when the content is deleted, except for the backup copies described in the privacy policy. You must be entitled to upload what you upload: a log of someone else's car is their data, and a GPS trace can show where a car lives.

We do not look at your logs except to operate the service, to diagnose a problem you have asked us to look at, or where the law requires it.

Sharing

A share link opens one log, read-only, to anyone who has the link, without an account. Treat it like the log itself: post it where you would be happy for the log to be seen. You can see how often a link was opened, turn it off, or delete it at any time. Sharing a car with another account gives that person the role you choose, and an editor's notes and math channels are theirs to write and yours to remove.

A viewer, not a backup

Keep your original log files. The service is built to show logs, not to be the only copy of them. Logs on the free tier are removed on the schedule below, the original file sooner, and we may need to convert or re-read a log after fixing a bug in a reader. The desktop app (part of Pro) leaves your files where they were and can re-upload them; from the browser you upload the file again yourself. We are not responsible for a log that exists nowhere but here.

The free tier

We may change these limits. We give at least 30 days' notice by email before a limit is tightened, and a change never removes a log sooner than the rule that applied when it was uploaded would have.

Acceptable use

Do not try to reach data that is not yours or not shared with you; do not probe, overload or interfere with the service; do not upload anything unlawful or anything that is not a datalog or its context; do not resell the service or use it to build a competing one from our data. We may suspend an account while we look into a breach.

Availability and changes

We run the service carefully, and we back it up nightly, but the free tier comes with no promise of uptime. We may change the service, and we may add features, retire features or close the service altogether; if we close it, we give at least 60 days' notice by email so you can recover your logs.

What we are not liable for

The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, Igniware Oy is not liable for lost data, lost time, or any indirect loss arising from using or being unable to use the service, and its total liability to you is limited to what you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim, which for the free tier is nothing. Nothing here limits the rights you have as a consumer under Finnish or EU law, or liability for gross negligence or intent.

Ending things

You can stop using the service at any time, delete your logs from the Logs page, and delete the whole account, with everything in it, from Preferences. We may end your account for a breach of these terms, with notice unless the breach is serious.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of Finland. If we cannot settle a disagreement between us, a consumer in Finland can contact the Consumer Advisory Services (kkv.fi) and then bring the matter to the Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariita.fi). A consumer may always also sue in the court of their own home district.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the new version is published here with a new date, and we email you if the change affects what you can do or what we may do. The web app asks you to agree to the new version the next time you use it. Continuing to use the service after that is acceptance of the new terms.
